Because some of you have expressed an interest in knowing more about the Wealthy Affiliate program, I thought I’d put a post here where I can answer questions I’ve already gotten and, if you have any others, you can post them in the comments and I can answer them there.

Now, on to the questions.
Is it really free?
Yes, there is a level that is completely free and is available to you for as long as you want to remain at that level. (Unless, of course, you do something so rude or horrible that you get yourself banned, but I know none of you would do that.)
Is it possible to make money with affiliate marketing?
Yes. Many people are making extra income every month with affiliate marketing, and some are making a comfortable or more-than-comfortable living.
Am I guaranteed to make money if I join Wealthy Affiliate?
No. How successful you’ll be–or whether you’ll be successful at all–depends on a variety of factors only you can control.
- Did you choose a niche for which there’s a market?
- Did you choose appropriate affilate programs?
- Do you write reasonably well?
- Do you post consistently and with an eye toward serving your target audience?
- Do you keep learning and improving?
- Do you persevere even when it seems like nothing is happening?
These things are all within your power, and if you do them all and stick it out, I’m sure you’ll be successful. But should there be a zombie apocalypse, giant meteor strike, or other unforeseen disaster that renders online commerce obsolete, all bets are off.
I’m confused about the levels. What do I get with the free level vs. the premium level?
Here’s a handy chart that shows you the difference.
If I go Premium and decide I don’t like it, can I switch back to the free starter level?
No. Make sure you’re really ready before you go Premium, because you can’t go back to the Starter level once you’ve upgraded.
Is Premium worth it?
Yes, absolutely, but I’d advise not jumping into it right away. Take your time, check everything out, and make an informed decision when you’re ready.
